1 ohm Amp for a single 2 ohm DVC Sub?

Any amp that is safe at 1 ohm will work at 4 ohms.

Thanks for the insight. The sub is actually rated for 500w rms. My car's alternator is 200 amp. Do you have any amp recommendations closer to 200? the sub is only $270 so it'd feel silly to spend so much more on the amp, and I don't plan to upgrade for a long time if ever.

My advice would be to return your sub for a dual 4 ohm, there are a ton of options for amps with 500w at 2 ohms.

I haven't bought the sub yet, just trying to plan everything out. Any recommendations for a sealed dual 4 ohm sub? Preferably under $400?
