Wife has no ambition

I am in this spot but it happened over 7 years but honestly I saw his red flags and ignored them. I am now 10 years in and would recommend not having kids, and honestly it only gets worse now that she knows you choose her and stay and she is like that. I am currently in process of separating my husband but o let it go on too long.

I'm sorry you're going through that. Yeah I've ignored the red flags. Some people are great at making excuses and some like me are great at overlooking those excuses for too long

OP, it sounds like your wife is exactly the same woman she always was. She has no interest in working full time, she isn't seeking a career, she doesn't want to "better herself" as you called it. She doesn't have the same direction in life as you do. Working isn't something she takes pride in, it seems like just something she does to contribute something. She doesn't go to school or get a degree because she doesn't want to. Maybe she likes the idea of it, but not enough to follow through and do it.
