Any of my fellow trappers have a kick ass way to display their pelts??

First soft tan pelt - during the process, quite a bit of tanning oil end up on the fur. Used the orange bottle. Now the fur is oily and smells like the tanning oil. How do yall clean up the fur after tanning?

(Orange bottle) Just unfolded to hang after 20 hrs of absorbing the tanning solution. Are the dark spots a problem?

What might be wrong with this dude?

I’m new to coyotes and fur-handling in general. I don’t intend to sell fur but I am trying to get my bearings as far as fur quality. How would you describe the quality of this fur? Taken last weekend in Oklahoma. I wish I had a better pic of the underfur but it’s pickling right now.

Been getting help from this sub and my buckskin is getting better. Still having hardening issues for about 3” around the perimeter. Any thoughts on how I can get a little more soft real estate?

Soft tan coyote pelt question

Curious if any of you thin the rump/neck when you’re doing a soft tan pelt on a coyote or bobcat? If so, what method do you prefer to thin those areas?

Looking for a pickling solution recipe for fur-on pelts. I have ph strips for testing 0-3 and 4.5-9.

Hair slipping but grain not ready?

I finished this bow and it still creaks (both limbs) but I shot a ton of arrows today and it’s still fine. Anyone ever had a creaky bow? No visible cracks anywhere. Osage takedown backed with rawhide. It’s definitely not the handle creaking because each limb creaks separately when taken apart.
