Frequent bird killings

Started watching this show and notice that there are an unusual amount of bird deaths/ killings (just watched the sleeper cell episode where Haley throws a knife at Stan, impaling 3 doves before hitting him). It's enough that I feel it can't be coincidence since it's multiple episodes per season where there is some kind of bird killing. However I can't find anyone talking about it online like no one is noticing. Does anyone else notice this? Does anyone have an explanation? It's just bizarre like the writers are doing it just for the sake of seeing if anyone notices.
