covid restrictions

hi all i’m trying to go to bangor for a weekend and just want to make sure i’m on the right track. from my understanding you can get a rapid test done in the states as long as it’s within 24 hours coming back to nb. but under neath i read about needing a pcr test within 72 hours. do i need both if i’m in the us for more than 72 hours?? tia
