Any group exploring Varanasi around the New Year?

Hii, we are a small group of 5 people, visiting Varanasi from Mumbai for the New Year, and are looking for other people travelling from different states around this time. We'll be exploring the local Food items and visiting the ghats and temples and Galliyas of Banaras. Also the people from Varanasi, please do give your suggestions about what all we can do in the city, around that time of the year.
