Converted Hideout under-bed storage into a hideaway couch + storage + end table

After 2 years of owning this particular model (Hideout 176 bunkhouse) my wife and I decided on some must-have alterations to make life a lot easier. Phase one of the renovation is to convert the queen bed platform into a folding couch with storage.

The idea is that the bed rolls down at night, but during the day we fold the futon over and open up a couch. The back rest folds up and just lays against the folded-over futon. Just need to add a couple throw pillows and we're golden.

The under-couch storage fits two of our plastic laundry hampers for storage, plus one more bin. The end table has a space underneath where we normally dump our boots and shoes, so we'll put down a mat to collect the dirt there.

All in all the project wood, fasteners, and custom-made cushions came out to under $600, and I borrowed all the tools from my local tool library. The final product works great with room for the slide to come in, and all dimensions of the couch are the same as the dinette seating so it feels the same when sitting on it.

Last phase of this will be to finish the wood with paint or stain, but we're going to do a few test runs first in case some adjustments are needed.
