36 Decans & Tarot Questions
The Minor Arcana are related to the 36 Decans in Astrology.
Understanding the relationship and the logic behind it allows for a deeper and more intimate reading and understanding of the minor misteries.
Example: 3D is in the second decan of Capricorn ruled by Mars. (That is why for example in the Thoth Deck you have Mars and Capricorn featured).
While there are some good sources (books: 36 Secrets, 36 Faces, Book T) going into this topic, I have a few open questions, please help :) (references to any books or articles would be great!)
Given that the planet order follows the chaldean system, why does it not start with the moon and it starts with mars? (I understand that it makes sense given Aries and Spring, but is there a deeper reasoning behind it?)
What is the logic behind the placement and sequence of the Court cards except the princess/page? I understand that they “cover” 3 decans, with one of them being of a different element, pointing to the “transitional” quality of the court cards - but would love to read, know more about the logic/ construction behind this. Also this reminds me of 3+1 where the page is the +1 (synthesis) just as earth is the + 1 of the other 3 elements.
What is the logic of the placement of the page/princess court cards? How is this to be understood? Example: Decans from Capricorn to Pisces are “overseen” by the princess/page of Swords. Why? Perhaps because the fixed sign is Aquarius? And why does the princess/page “rule” over these 3 decans? I read that it has to do with the page “witnessing the developmental lessons across this region and maturing as a result”?
Staying with the same example of the decans from capricorn to pisces, why is the ace of swords associated here? Being winter, I would think it should be the earth element/ace?
Thank you!🙏
