The other night was a blast! I was on my way to grab my Taurus in New Babbage to load it up with my fury and tackle some solo bounties when a player suddenly ran up to me and invited me to join their party. Normally, I wouldn’t just accept invitations like that, but whenever someone approaches me in-game, almost like a courier from Skyrim offering a side quest, I can't help but listen. Well, this side quest quickly became the main quest.
The player explained that he had rented a bunch of equipment but never received it, despite multiple relogs. He was out 400k credits and had no money left. I felt bad for him, so since I had 3.4 million UEC at the time, I decided to help him out. The only problem was that we couldn’t add each other as friends. I told him I was about to do some solo bounties, but he was welcome to tag along. Of course, my hangar wouldn’t open, and we couldn’t accept or send friend requests due to the usual Star Citizen bugs. It felt like I couldn’t help him much at that point, but I didn’t want him to feel discouraged. There's been many time's I've wanted to quit myself due to bugged contracts, commodity hauls, and more but I didn't want this newer player to suffer as much as me and to know there is a community here to help.
So, I suggested we both relog and try again. After a quick relog, we were able to take off from the hangar and start the bounties. However, the share feature was still broken, along with the friend request, so he wasn’t getting any rewards for the work he was putting in. I told him we should relog one more time because I didn’t feel right not being able to give him his share. Thankfully, the third time was the charm!
At that point, I sent him the 400k credits he lost, plus his share of the bounty contracts, and he was absolutely thrilled. It made me feel great, too, knowing I was able to help. After that, we continued tearing through bounties in my Connie, and it was an awesome experience. OneSpaceMantis, if you’re out there, fly safe, brother! o7
