What are some high-level strategies that surprised you?

I used to think that having Prayer Wheel and/or Question Card makes Busted Crown more pickable because its downside is mitigated. However, it seems that the consensus among top players is that Busted Crown is even less pickable because Prayer Wheel / Question Card are so powerful that you don't want to make them worse.
