Rabbit hole named rum.....

Went looking for Bookers 2024-04 after work tonight. Found batch 2024-03. Since I already have one plus a back up I wandered to the rum aisle and grabbed a Wray and Nephew and being fairly new to this rum thing I picked up a OFTD,. Total price was about 1/2 of the Bookers for both bottles. I considered it a win.

A couple days ago I went to grab a third 1792 Single barrel but I was 10 minutes late. I did, however, see some old stock Plantation (Not Planteray) so I grabbed 3 different bottles, the 3 star, Stiggins Fancy and an Aged 5 years. I went home and put them into the rum cabinet which seemed to be oddly full for a bourbon guy?!

I placed them next to the Rhum Barbancourt, Smith and Cross, Diplomatico Exclusiva, Appleton Signature, 8 & 12, Rum Fire, RL Seales, Dead head, a couple different Bumbu's and a Captain Morgan private estate. It just baffles me how I ended up with this much rum while bourbon chasing.

Anyone else accidentally enjoying the vast difference in flavor profiles and low cost compared to the bourbon world?
