How close is aged sheng to shou?

To start, I want to say that I only drink fresh sheng. I’ve tried shou and the flavor profiles aren’t for me, and for aged sheng I’ve just never came across it to make a purchase to try. Until I got some samples from LP’s recent sample set.

Now for why I’m asking the question, I’ve read somewhere that the comparison is something like looking at a picture of the grand canyon vs being there in person, with the aged sheng being the “in person experience”. But as someone not familiar with aged sheng, it has the same qualities that put me off to shou. Just a little more herbal/ medicinal and less woody/earthy. Does this sound right for aged sheng or am I just drinking bad examples of it?
