What are your (serious or non-serious) Phish predictions for 2025?

Memes aside, here are mine:

  • Overall 2025 is considered strong but a step down from 2024 in the same way that 1999 is considered strong but a step down from 1998

  • Mexico is awesome again. Some big bustouts and big jams. The Mexico runs become as sought-after and hyped as Dicks'.

  • Halloween gets announced and they play a recent-ish album from another artist. My guess is Random Access Memories. They come out on stage in shades and tuxedoes. Touch and Fragments of Time are sung by Page, Instant Crush is sung by Mike, and Doin' It Right is sung by Fishman. Fragments of Time gets some more play throughout the years. The performance overall is regarded as slightly sloppy but fans strongly appreciate their willingness to break outside their comfort zone.

  • Whereas the general 'sound' of 2024 was sludgy full-band texture, the general sound of 2025 is mellow funk similar to the 12/29/24 YEM and the NYE MFMF -> Sand. There are some small influences from the EDM gag in that the jams adopt a more steady, repetitive dancey feel. People will wonder if Trey's been listening to a lot of Khruangbin lately.

  • Overall average jam length is down from 2024 and most sets don't have jams exceeding the 20 minute mark. There are a couple big 30+ minute jams however, and one of them is considered among the band's all-time masterpieces.

  • Folsom Field replaces Dicks and one night has a Harpua that leads into a full-show setlist gag.

  • Summer tour is widely considered superior to Spring tour.

  • YEM will have a late-career renaissance continuing from last year and will be considered a surprise breakout jam vehicle of the year; about half its performances will have second jams, and generally every performance will have some wacky element.

  • Other big jammers: What's Going Through Your Mind, Free, Wolfman's and of course Ruby Waves/Tweezer/CDT. Monsters will surprisingly get some big jams.

  • Songs that won't be played as much as expected: Tweezer, Oblivion, Sigma Oasis, Back on the Train, A Wave of Hope, BASOS, Mike's Groove, Theme From the Bottom

  • Songs that will be played more than expected: What's Going Through Your Mind, Monsters, Plasma, Lifeboy, Mr. Completely, Big Black Furry Creature From Mars

  • Bust-outs: Brother, Glide, Highway to Hell, Spock's Brain, Waiting All Night, Tide Turns, Swept Away/Steep
