Meta Quest 3 PCVR Link with i5-14600k + GTX970?
I have a 14600k DDR5 with a GTX970. Anyone have success with Meta Quest 3 using Link for PCVR using the GTX970? Anyone know if it will it work?
I'm currently running an oculus rift cv1 with zero issues, but want to upgrade to the quest 3. I'm unsure how it will perform with the quest link pcvr streaming. I don't want to purchase a new gpu. My office/gaming PC is an 11900k with a RTX4090, but I'd like to play tethered in the living room (steam VR games). The 4090 won't fit in the living room (14600) mini-ITX case, and I don't really want to buy a new router to set up airlink.
update: I'm trying to wait until RTX50-series are released to buy a new gpu but *might* consider getting a 4060 (due to low TDP of 115W) if I have to. My SFX PSU cannot support a 3070+ unless I UV, but I don't really have the motivation. I guess I have an 850W PSU so this is OBE--now my concern is just cooling/heat in my case.
update2: I ended up purchasing the quest 3 based on your guys' feedback saying 'it will work with the 970' and I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised! Tethered to my 14600k+GTX970, it's clearly not as crisp as running native on the meta 3, but beat saber runs very smooth with zero stuttering or loss of fps. The quality is a little grainy, but honestly I think it's just as good, if not better than what my rift CV1 optics look like. Tethered to my 4090 PC is awesome and even airlink with the 4090 is great (if I'm in my office where my router has to be). I'm sure AAA games will need to be turned down or won't work at all, but I can always play those in my office when I don't have people over. Thanks for all your input!
