Indian nurses to Australia?

Hi,

I’m from India and work in Marketing in Australia. I’m keen to set up my own business. What’s important to me is to help both Australians and people from India who want to come here.

I was planning to start a recruitment agency to bring nurses from India into Australia and offer them support to getting settled (I know how hard it can be to move!).

I’ve spoken to people in aged care, etc and they have clarified that they are facing shortages.

I’m looking for help to clarify a few things:

1) Are Indian qualifications accepted for the skilled visas or is bridging education required to practice here? 2) if I am looking for fresh candidates in India, do they need to be reviewed by NMBA or AHPRA first (after an English test)? I was told if they are AHPRA and English certified that I may be able to get their sponsorship paid by my contacts in aged care if they commit to working a year. 3) what processes can be started in parallel to reduce the arrival time? 4) I am exploring all the work streams so advice across them would be useful 5) can AHPRA be approved while sitting in India? This would reduce the candidates costs of living in Australia without employment.
6)anything else I haven’t considered?

Would love some support and advice to get started.

Thank you!
