Great car…..with some complaints
I have the 2024 prox frontier. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car, but a few things makes wish I could go back to my 2014 fronteir.
To start off with the most annoying things, we have engine breaking. I guess I'm not the most car-savvy person because I have no idea why this is even a thing. When I'm just cruising around at low speeds the car constantly switches back and forth between engine breaking, jerking the car to a slower speed, and not engine breaking. Additionally, when I'm coasting down hills the car will not pick up speed no matter the flip what. It's so annoying. No. Instead it switches to a higher Lower gear (I thin? Tbth idk but idc) and the car will make you feel like it's breaking. I absolutely hate it.
Next up is the auto-stop feature. This is another feature that feels absolutely useless and I wish they never added it to the car. I'll be sitting at a stop light for 10 seconds or whatever and then I'll start go and accelerate and the car with jolt to get going making for yet again an uncomfortable rides.
Kind of related to the first I guess, but overall the ride is a lot rougher. The breaks are much more sensitive and it's impossible to do a shofer (I don't think I'm spelling that right) stop, which I have ive tried hundreds of times and haven't gotten a single successful one, like are you flipping serious?
And then there's the cruise control. Some may think this would be one of the best features of the car. I COMPLETELY disagree. The auto-break feature must be the most annoying part of it, because it nearly removes all control you have over the car. To be frank, I just wish you could turn off the auto break feature. Why does everything have to be so "smart" these days??
If they'd just give you the OPTION to disable these features that would literally solve everything!
Anyway, if any of y'all have felt the same way about any of this and have a solution, please share!
Don't get me wrong, it a nice car. I would rather have this car than have no car at all.
