Rant on Shankar

I know Shankar has lost his grace ever since Sujatha passed away.

But, goddamn, even from an execution POV, Game Changer was horrible.

His student, Atlee, is far, far better when it comes to execution and direction.

Editing was so choppy and all over the place.

Couldn't extract the best performance from the lead and other actors.

The screenplay was so confusing and predictable. IPS, IAS, Collector, Electoral Officer, Sulphuric Acid, CM, mining — so many subplots and yet bad expositions.

Certain camera angles were a headache. The interval shot style from Indian 2is also in this one.

The songs were useless and nothing but a money burner. I feel for Dil Raju.

Why waste so much on songs that don't add anything significant to the narrative.

Heck, even Varisu was more entertaining than this movie.

And how can someone be so out of touch with reality?

Nowhere in the country, especially in a metro city, would you see goons breaking into and tearing down an election counting center.

If Shankar thought he was doing this movie for civil servants, the actual civil servants and police would be so disappointed.

His weird kinks of objectifying women continue even in this movie. Those who have seen it will understand.

Feels like the movie was made in the pre-2010s era.

A rotten masala of all masala films.
