Only a few games have truly blown my mind. Which ones blew yours?
I have been playing video games for 30 years. There have been some incredible moments throughout the years but there were only a few that truly blew my mind. What games/moments blew yours?
- Zelda Ocarina of Time
Walking out of the forest and into Hyrule field. As a kid, thinking you finished the game and realizing that there was still a massive world yet to be explored blew my mind. Experiencing this after only playing SNES games was insane. Best game ever created.
- Dark Souls
I was a veteran gamer the first time I played it. The first NPC tells you to ring a bell up high, and ring one down low. Thats it. "Good luck, fucker!" No quest log, waypoints, map, journal. Nothing. Zero hand holding. The mysteriousness and the difficulty of the whole thing was like nothing id ever experienced before. Also, spending 3 days and dying hundreds of times on a single boss (O&S). I can still remember the feeling after finally winning.
- GTA 3
Being able to drive around a city, shoot people, run from cops, bang hookers, drive tanks, whatever I wanted. Never played anything like it at the time and I was hooked. Ground breaking game.
