Hey ya'll, just thought I'd share my experience so far and maybe some useful info will come out of it.

Purchased a 21' Lariat a couple months ago now, checked all the boxes and the was price was in my budget. Its a 5.0 4x4 with 60k miles, it has a bit more of the original ford warranty and I purchased another till 120k. Everything looked and sounded good at the dealer, but I'll admit this was my first time buying something this nice. It kinda put my blinders on not to check everything and well you should lol. After a couple days I noticed 3 issues.

1 There was a wobble at higher speeds

2 Smoke coming out on startup

3 Transmission stutters when downshifting to 3rd gear

I purchased running boards off a local seller and as I'm under the truck installing them I noticed the Transfer case and Diff are leaking. Bringing it up to 5 things, I then reach out to my local ford dealer and they take it in without question and provided a rental no additional charge due to the warranty. I get a call the next day explaining they found all 5 issues and are getting started. After a week I got it back, drove it around to work and even a 1 hour trip out of town to test.

And I loved every bit of it, great size for the family and dogs, electronics worked as expected, and even got 21mpg during the trip. This is why I bought this thing. Butttt off the bat I realized it was still smoking on startup. I was going to keep the truck for 2 weeks then bring it back to the dealer but before I could a small puddle of oil was under it (Noticed on my lunch break) so I brought it back to the dealer. And at first I was told the Cylinder Heads were going to be replaced and this is what is causing oil getting in the cylinders and causing the leak. Then following the next day my repair tech informed me Ford denied the repair and instead wanted to replace the block, pretty much a new engine. I guess Ford weighed the chance of me coming back with another issue and thought this is cost effective and shows it cares about its customers.

So thats where I am, they've had it over another week and still waiting on parts to arrive. I'm glad Ford has been pretty painless to use the warranty and also extended my rental for free until the truck is fixed.
