My car bricked itself in my driveway
Saturday afternoon, I finished errands and did what I do every day. I parked in my driveway and plugged my car in. Sunday morning, I go to pick up some brunch and my car won’t start. It says electrical error. After watching some videos on YouTube, I see that the error doesn’t come with the other signals that indicate a dead 12v battery. So I book a tow Monday morning to my local dealership.
Yesterday at almost 5 pm, I finally hear from the dealership. The tech’s notes state:
Fault P0DB000 Hybrid Cell Balancing Circuit "B" in 08C Hybrid Battery control module. Test plan ineffective at isolating problem. Read measured value blocs. Cells- 13-24 showing invalid, all others showing 4.10-4.11v
Has anything similar happened to anyone else? When I spoke to the client services person, he said they need to replace a number of high-voltage battery cells and the harness. I’m still waiting on a quote for the work, because I am 1k outside my warranty.
My car is 2018 eGolf SE with 101k miles.
