Are you trying to beat plate readers?

I know all the salt on the roads means loads of spray and crap all over our rides, but I do a hundred miles and my plate is still readable.

How difficult is it to wipe a cloth over your plate to stay legal, or are you genuinely hoping that letting it go black means you can avoid tickets and ANR? And by extension, can you see anything out your rear view mirror?
