Is it possible to move from Semi-Tech Solution/Presales Manager to Cloud Architect ?
?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently working as a Solution/Presales Manager in a semi-technical role. I am more like a product specialist.I have a solid background in understanding customer needs, presenting technical solutions, and supporting the sales team. While I enjoy my current role, I'm considering a transition to a tech role and the best suitable now feels like Cloud Architect.
I'm reaching out to this community for advice and insights on how to make this career shift.
- Skills and Certifications: What specific skills and certifications should I focus on to prepare for a Cloud Architect role? Are any certifications (like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) more valuable or widely recognized?
- Learning Resources: Can you recommend any courses, books, or online resources that would be particularly helpful for someone transitioning from a semi-technical role to a Cloud Architect?
- Practical Experience: How can I gain practical experience in cloud architecture while still working in my current role? Are there any projects, volunteer opportunities, or platforms where I can practice and apply my learning?
- Transition Tips: For those who have made a similar transition, what challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
