Is it possible to move from Semi-Tech Solution/Presales Manager to Cloud Architect ?

?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working as a Solution/Presales Manager in a semi-technical role. I am more like a product specialist.I have a solid background in understanding customer needs, presenting technical solutions, and supporting the sales team. While I enjoy my current role, I'm considering a transition to a tech role and the best suitable now feels like Cloud Architect.

I'm reaching out to this community for advice and insights on how to make this career shift.

  1. Skills and Certifications: What specific skills and certifications should I focus on to prepare for a Cloud Architect role? Are any certifications (like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) more valuable or widely recognized?
  2. Learning Resources: Can you recommend any courses, books, or online resources that would be particularly helpful for someone transitioning from a semi-technical role to a Cloud Architect?
  3. Practical Experience: How can I gain practical experience in cloud architecture while still working in my current role? Are there any projects, volunteer opportunities, or platforms where I can practice and apply my learning?
  4. Transition Tips: For those who have made a similar transition, what challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
