How can continue a conversation after a girl said thank you because i complimented her?

So I complimented a girl who goes to the same college as me and she said "thank you ahahah ☺️" and I want to know how I can continue the conversation. We are all in exam season, and I was thinking about asking her how she is feeling and how the exams are going, if she is doing well.

I don't know, I need tips, I would appreciate it.
