I bought fake AirPods Pro 2’s… on Amazon
Last week I bought some AirPods Pro 2 on Amazon (at the Renew Store). They were even at #1 at the top sellers-list. I paid 170 euro’s for them, which seemed like a reasonable price for Renewed AirPod Pro’s 2 to me.
Especially with extremely populair items like this you should say Amazon had a very strict policy and standards for bad, unhygienic or fake items. I understand they can’t check every single item on the site (that must be millions) but the seller did send me fake AirPods. I could see it immediately at the box (see photo). Apple NEVER should call AirPods ‘Earphones’ on the box. Apple would also never not call ‘Apple’ on the whole backside of a box. Also they always have a serial number on the backside or the side of their boxes. You don’t have to be an expert to see this box is fake.
The AirPods self were looking really legit. The only thing you could know their were fake, is that the firmware didn’t update. Even not after you forced it for 5 times and waited for hours. Also the noise of the case (when you openend or closed it or connected it on the charger) was different.
I had to call for 2 hours with Amazon before I could convince them there were fake.
So people, watch out!! Even on Amazon you have to be aware of scammers and fake Apple products!
