[Discussion] What age did you begin to get into watches?
I’ll start. I got into watches very early into my life childhood really. I was about 7 or 8 when I developed an interest in watches & I remember as a kid growing up I wanted an all gold watch even though I know it was next to impossible cause of how expensive they were.
Years later around 13, the beginning of my teenhood, I started really getting into watches researching brands, histories, complications, and just exploring the entire industry finding out about watchmaking & movements & exploring where my interests lie in the hobby & industry.
5 Years later aged 18, entering my adulthood my passion for watches didn’t die down at all. In fact I started becoming more passionate about watches I wanted to know everything about every watch & because my brain was more grown I was finally able to understand the more complicated things in the industry like what’s a lateral clutch vs a vertical clutch.
3 years later In the present at aged 21, I’m obsessed with watches & I yearn for each & every opportunity to learn & talk about watches with people. I’m always eager to learn about anything involving watches & informing people about watches, sometimes I think I missed out because I think I should’ve been a watchmaker because of how much passion & appreciation I have for the hobby. Despite all these years I’m not burnt out at all, I’m still that same 7 year old child who loves watches just more mature & able to understand better now & it really made me develop an appreciation for anything mechanical too. I just love watches.
