It’s officially been one year since I started collecting KAITO merchandise! 🎉💙 (A long, probably stupid post, swipe for more images + backstory 😭)

Hey everyone, you might have seen past posts about my collection, but if you haven't then I'm here to reintroduce you. My collection started on 11/22/23, when I realized that yes, in fact, Kaito merch DOES exist, despite me believing for the longest time that, "oh, companies only like Miku and no Kaito merch exists, time to give up.🪦”

My first pieces of merch were from a Rascal x Hatsune Miku collab, and were things I bought from my first ever AmiAmi order. After that, I was hooked. (a) The first image you see after the header is my first ever photos of my collection!

I started expanding my knowledge about Japanese marketplaces and websites where you could buy merch, started using Mercari JP, which while expensive, helped me get my hands on so many cool things that weren't easily available anywhere else.

Photo three was taken on February of 2024, as you can see, I was already deep in it, and I was having so much fun collecting merch for Kaito after making my amazing discovery that merch of him existed..

After this, my collection just continued to expand, and eventually, I realized that I probably needed some more room... And so I bought two shelves for him, so I could more comfortably display my collection without having to cram it all into one shelf. That brings us to today, where on 11/22/2024, image 5 displays what my current collection looks like. Of course, I collect merch of the other Vocaloids, but Kaito has a very special place in my heart, and so I really wanted to make a nice place for all of the things l've collected for him. My collection will continue to grow, I'm sure of it, but as of now, this is how it stands!

I'd like to now go through some of my favorite moments during my collecting journey so far, some big milestones and just some of my favorite photos too.

Starting right after the collection photos end, my 1/7 scale figure of Kaito! Genuinely, when I first started collecting, it's something I never thought I'd obtain, and the day when I was finally able to get my hands on him was a very good one. Back when I first started collecting I thought only one figure of him existed (minus things like his Nendoroid, Figma, etc.) and it was this one, but l'd be happy to discover that there were, in fact, more!

The image right after this one was when I managed to get my hands on Kaito's 1/8 scale figure by Stronger, and this is probably still my favorite figure of Kaito that I own. He's just gorgeous, I still love him so much, and the details are so beautiful!

Going way back in time, this was when I got Kaito's OG Nendoroid. This was on December 18th of 2023, and I remember him being very sticky when I unboxed him because of how old he is! I had to soak him with soap and water and thankfully, that was enough to get most of it off. I still love him a lot.

Now this acrylic stand was actually one of my first.. I wasn't too crazy experienced with acrylic stands at the time, and I loved this design so much that I didn't even think before buying it, which was a mistake! Turns out it was a bootleg, and I was a little upset at first, even asking about it on here just to make sure it was fake, (to no avail..) but ended up just accepting him like every other piece of merch. Eventually, as you can see, I did manage to get the authentic one.

Next is another one of my favorite items, my Kaito watch! It was kind of expensive but I really liked the design, and I had never seen anything like it before. I wear it sometimes, though most of the time l'm too scared of breaking it.

Closing in on the finale here, another one of my favorite items, this was a handmade gift that I received for Christmas of 2023. My sister had hand-sewed it for it and it's still one of my favorite things ever, I love it so much!

And FINALLY, the last two items are just two photos I really liked! Two beautiful acrylic stands that are some of my favorites.
