Stop comparing not wanting to pay child support to getting an abortion. An abortion is a solution to an unwanted pregnancy, not parenting.

I think I might fucking scream if I hear another cis man compare getting an abortion to them paying child support. Not sure if it's the lack of empathy or understanding because they can't get pregnant themselves, but child support is a part of parenting and is not the only contribution that goes into parenting. Women who have full custody still contribute their time, resources and money as part of their parenting responsibilities. Women without custody pay child support too. Child support isn't gendered.

But none of that matters because abortion is a solution to PREGNANCY, not parenting. It's dehumanizing to hear "well I can't opt out of child support" when we are talking about abortion. It's like cis men don't even understand the sacrifice here to compare it to money and it makes abortion seem like it's only an alternative to parenting, which is how we get the "have it and give it up for adoption" crowd too.

Abortion is a solution to an unwanted pregnancy. Cis men, I'm really fucking sorry you don't get pregnant or have something to compare it too. It must be really hard to not have a way to insert yourself into a conversation about something you can't experience but feel you have ownership/say over. But you need to stop. Seriously. It just makes you look like a misogynist when you center conversations about abortion, again, a solution to an unwanted pregnancy, around your wallet (child support). Stop it. Seriously, stop it.
