You Ever get into a game because of DLC?

I've been slowly unlocking everything in the Vampire Survivors DLC Ode to Castlevania and it reminded me how Matt said he didn't really care about the game till it had an official Castlevania expansion. Then he ended up getting all the other DLC and completing it all. Anyone ever done anything like this?
