"It was actually fine." revisionist history by fandoms.

So Tales of Graces remastered came out and I'm boggled by how well it's been reviewing, with 8,9's and 10's across the board. My friends and I dropped this game when it came out on the ps3 due to it's dog water story and cardboard cutout characters.
Review sites for the remastered also admitted that the vanilla release had the worst story in the franchise only to say that it's actually fine now(the rerelease changed no story elements).
It reminds me of revisionist history on other games, like how fans are saying sonic 06 is pretty good, and ff XIII was actually amazing.

What are other examples (hyperboly of the internet aside) of games being revisioned by the annuls of history from being terrible to okay or vise versa?
