Bloodless deaths that are more brutal than the alternative?

There's a weird thing in children and family media where characters can fight, recieve mortal wounds, and die and that's okay - until there's any blood at all. A lot of media will have characters conveniently recieve their death blows just off camera, hide the actual wound from view, or wave off a cartoonish comedy death with the character going "I'm okay!" from off screen. But, sometimes characters get killed off and although it's bloodless and technically within PG rating bounds, still feel pretty brutal!

I was watching some old pirates of the caribbean movies recently and noticed how despite the pg-13 rating and aside from the blood on the aztec gold, most of the fights feel very bloodless. The first three all have tons of big swordfights where you never actually see any blood on swords and stuff like that. But then in the third movie there's a bit where Davy Jones strangles a guy with his tentacles and it's, a very brutal moment for movies where you never see blood on a sword after obvious stabs.

Another example of this is in Sonic 3 where Eggman senior bites it hard by way of being flung into what is essentially a nuclear reactor and is vaporized instantly. I couldn't stop myself from leaning over to my partner and going "holy shit they vaporized him lmao"
