Is the new maelstrom good on Slark now?

I’m only a casual and lowly crusader IV-V so I’m not super intuitive about why certain items are good on certain heroes, so maybe someone can explain this to me.

As far as I know Slark likes attack speed because it feeds his passive which gives him more damage and even more attack speed that causes a positive feedback loop that continues to make him gain agility faster and faster.

Maelstrom now gives an attack speed bonus in addition to extra damage and lightning procs. So from what I can see this item gives things Slark likes like AS and damage, helps him farm faster, and builds into an item that gives him even more attack speed later down the line.

Maybe it’s not as optimal as Diffusal Blade, but maybe it’s not too bad of a choice if you need to deal with illusions or maybe need to farm more than your average game.

What’s your guy’s thoughts?
