Receiving Oral from Bf?

My bf has told me that he really wants to go down on me but I'm terrified that it might smell or taste bad, I don't think there's any way for me to truly figure that out myself, though. I personally believe I have good hygiene, and I make sure to clean down there thoroughly everyday. I know scents can stick to hair so I shave down there completely (also because I just prefer not having hair there). What can I do to make sure it is as enjoyable for my bf as he hopes it will be? Does it have anything to do with the food I eat? I also wonder if anyone naturally smells nice down there or if it smells bad initially for everyone and they consume or do something to make it better.

EDIT: Okay...for those replying that I can figure it out myself, I am not particularly in favor of tasting myself. I know it is possible, but the idea makes me want to vomit.
