Watching first time...
I'm almost through season 4—it seems it's slowly changing from a show about police work and the many steps and trials it takes to become a good cop to becoming a goofy comedy. Have the original writers all left the production?
I appreciate the emphasis on strong women, of which there were many in the early seasons. At times, I thought it was caked on a little thick, but overall, the characters are nuanced and likeable. Throughout seaons 3 and 4, it seems we're just abandoning the dynamics of the earlier seasons. Now, the focus seems to be on quirks instead of the drama that held the show together before. Hopefully, seasons 5 and 6 have more to offer to the viewer who likes a story and character arcs that are not interrupted by clown characters and mocumentary,
Oh well... it's still a good show, just not the same anymore.
