Should I avoid Powerwall 3 if I am currently grandfathered in California NEM 1.0?

Currently a SCE customer. I have a Tesla solar system (installed 2015 by SolarCity under NEM 1.0). I am thinking about adding a Powerwall to deal with the peak electricity rate and the rare blackout in SoCal.

I've searched through multiple Reddit threads on this issue and it seems that the 2022 CPUC NEM 3.0 decision mentioned in a different thread specifically allows the addition of a battery storage system without disturbing the NEM grandfathered status. However, Telsa's current FAQ on Powerwall 3 is quite specific that a Powerwall 3 installation will trigger a switch to NEM 3.0.

I called SCE last week and managed to talked to a live rep over the phone, who told me that if a new interconnection agreement is required for the installation, then my account will be switched to NEM 3.0.

So it seems that the new integrated inverter on the Powerwall 3 (which is not in Powerwall 2) is considered to have modifies the original solar system design and takes it out of the battery storage exemption.

I absolutely don't want to lose my NEM 1.0 status before its expiration date. So at this point, it appears I should go with Powerwall 2 if it's still available and stay away from Powerwall 3.

As this is a major decision, I want to make sure I didn't miss anything. If anyone can share any experience or insight, it's very much appreciated. Thanks!

3/22/24 Update for others: Talked to my assigned Tesla Energy advisor and SCE Interconnection Department as well. PW 3 is fine and should not take me out of my current NEM plan. Will proceed with PW install and provide a final update after everything is done in a few months.
