The Way of Kings

Hey yall. So I'm gonna preface this by saying I read all of Mistborn Era 1 and 2 without realizing there was a reading order. So I've now started The Way of Kings as that seemed to be the next big series. However, I'm 70 pages in and its kind of dry. Just my opinion. Is the whole book like this, or does the plot pace pickup or is it slow throughout the whole book?
