I was just involved in a car crash - Advice

Hi, I was just involved in car crash. Another car missed the stop sign and crashed directly into our car. We’re all good and safe, although both cars are in a super bad condition.

The firefighters came over very quickly to supervise the accident and we’ve contacted our insurance companies. The firefighters mentioned that police have been made aware of our accident, but are understaffed at the moment so their ETA is unclear. The insurance company in the other hand has sent a tow to take our car.

What should we do? Should we wait for the police to take the report before they tow the car? Will that make a difference? Any other tips of information I should consider?
