Chilly Half Marathon Clothing

Hey everyone,

I’m running the Chilly Half this weekend and would love some feedback on my clothing plan! Right now, I’m planning to wear:

  • Thermal leggings
  • Merino socks
  • Thick merino base layer (long sleeve)
  • Running gloves (with hand warmers to start)
  • Thick/warm buff
  • Tuque
  • Cheap/throwaway windbreaker

I’ll be treating this more like a workout (9 weeks out from my full marathon) and plan to do a 2-3km warmup before the race.

Do you think this will be enough? Is throwing away a windbreaker a good idea, or should I reconsider? Any tips or adjustments based on experience with this race/weather?
