I'm cooked if I study physics in a developing country?

I want to study physics, but I’m not sure if it would be better to study engineering since, here in Latin America, there aren’t many jobs related to physics. Has anyone gone through this before? I'm in El Salvador by the way. I want to go out to United States or Europe in the future, maybe the situation there could be better, but that would cost a lot of money. Thank you for reading my post.
