Should I have taken egg hunt away?

Walked in on my 5yo daughter last night stomping on her kindle she got for Christmas as a replacement to her old damaged one. 4th one in 5 years. I took the kindle away and told her no egg hunt today. I'm still made. But feeling taking the egg hunt away may have been to far. Help me out.

This is not the first time I've caught her doing that or throwing it.

UPDATE not all kindles were bought by me. 3 different ppl did. Also not all were her fault on being damaged. 1 was me dropping it. Last one was someone else knocked off a table and damaged the volume corner.
