Stuck after beating Yanlao

I have deafeated Yanlao but i seem to be lost. I can continue the greenhouse/research areas because of multiple blockcades. The factory is blocked as well. I looking at guides saying im supposed to meet a guy at the factory or a get ability but that hasnt happen to me. am I missing something here?
