battery compartment door stuck

Hi, so I just got this camera (Nikon Coolpix B500) for Christmas and i was trying to open the battery/memory card compartment door so I can charge it but it won’t budge. i watched a video of someone opening theirs so I’m pretty sure I’m doing it right but its still not opening. This is what the camera looks like, does anyone know why this might be happening?
