Installed Nextcloud - now want to connect it to personal domain

I'm relatively new to the selfhosting and Nextcloud game, and trying to learn as much as possible.

I'm running a homeserver, running unraid, and I've installed a ubuntu server VM on it. On said VM, i've installed Nextcloud on it using this guide. I also have a personal domain setup on cloudflare.

My VM is on a network bridge and can connect online.

I have replaced the example.com with nextcloud.my-own-domain.com, and on Cloudflare, I've created a CNAME registry (name: nextcloud; target: my-own-domain.com). But I get an Error code 521.

Is this the correct way of doing it? I feel like I should connect the nextcloud service on the VM to Nextcloud somehow...
