Watch your hormone via bloodwork, especially us men.
I've been on methadone for going on 18 years now and I'm in my mid 40's. Majority of that time at my current dose of 110mg. I've felt the effects of low libido over the years and lack of drive and motivation. But over the last couple years it's gotten worse. Recently it's so bad I have to really push myself to do anything. Basically if I'm not at work and out of the house I'm in bed. Not necessarily sleeping though. Finally took an at home hormone test and the results are extremely low. I now have an appointment for official bloodwork work in a couple days and will need Testosterone replacement therapy. My total Testosterone is in the normal range for a woman at 29.05 ng/dL. Free Testosterone is at 0.5 ng/dL. My LH was below the tests threshold. And because my Testosterone is so low my estradiol is way to low. Not enough Testosterone to aromatize into estrogen. Just wanted to share so you guys can understand if you didn't already what it's doing to our hormones and why we've lost drive, and motivation to do the things we enjoyed before.
