Suica Card, JR Pass, or other Transportation Options?

Hi there. My bf and I are headed to Japan in March for 16 days. Here is our itinerary:

Tokyo → Hakone (taking a romancecar here) → Osaka → Kyoto → Hiroshima → Miyajimacho Island → Tokyo

I've heard the JR pass went WAY up in price. For our trip, is it worth it? What are your suggestions? Thanks in advance!
