I was watching Austin Powers and I realised something about classic Bond tropes

The trope that the villains henchman appears at the end after the villains plan has been thwarted, when was the first time that really happened?

Kind of in From Russia with Love, but Rosa Klebb is arguably the main villain of the film- with Grant being the henchman.

Was it in Diamonds are Forever? I just thought it was funny considering most people hate that movie, but it may have started one of Bonds most iconic tropes
