Rising resting heart rate
Hello! I’m 26F, had the flu for a whole month in August. I have a history of benign palpitations and POTS symptoms, but ever since I got the flu those symptoms have gotten much worse. Particularly in the last 3 days, my resting heart rate has been climbing from my usual 84bpm. If I move at all even while lying down it’ll jump to 120, and my walking average has been climbing from my usual 125 to 150. I constantly feel anxious, out of breath, cold hands and feet, and get palpitations when I walk.
I also have a lot of gut issues that’ve been happening for the last three weeks, which I think could be caused from the iron supplements my doctor prescribed me. I stopped them yesterday to see if they’re really the cause. It’s just freaking me out because I’ve seen rapid increase in heart rate and other symptoms I have linked up with hypothyroidism. The last time it was this high I was at the peak of having the flu and I don’t have it anymore. I’ve been essentially bed bound all of September and most of August.
I am seeing a cardiologist on Monday and just got blood work done that’ll go over my thyroid, but I just don’t know if I can make it until then 😭 I just need some reassurance
