Let Ye be Ye

People act like Ye has to be a certain way, follow some rules or shouldnt rap abt certain topics cuz of his age, but thats what makes him stand out. Ye always broken those “age barriers” everyone else follows. Back in '16, Ye was pushing 40, running youth n street culture like no one else could n no one called him “too old” cuz he did it with finesse. He wasnt just part of the culture - he was the culture. Creatives like Ye dont age the same way as regular people. Theres no cutoff for making art or expressing yourself

I dont get why people fixate on age so much. We're more digital than ever n its made people obsessed with vanity. Most rockstars stayed on the same timing as Ye well into their 40s - look at them now. Age doesnt mean turning into a “typical old person” People age differently n creatives like Ye will always push boundaries

The whole "mature" thing people expect is just society forcing people to fit a mold. But he’s already broken all those molds. He should express himself however he wants, not cuz fans expect him to. His evolution isnt abt fitting in - its abt personal expression

Ye was always authentic n thats one of his biggest assets. His albums reflect where he’s at in life, for example:

The College Trilogy was abt his come up n social issues cuz thats where he was at the time

808s was him grieving thru art after the loss of his mother

Yeezus was abt how the fashion industry didnt want to accept him

The Wyoming era was abt his mental health

JIK & Donda was his Christian era

Donda 2 was abt his divorce

And the Vultures is abt him letting go of expectations, doing what he wants, rapping abt what he feels, leaning into his hedonistic side, n proving he can come back on his own rules. He doesnt need to make the type of music people expect, he can do what he likes n still be relevant. His current topics reflect where he is n what he feels or enjoys rn. He's not competing with anyone. He’s made introspective/inspirational/ambitious/generational music before - if he feels like making more, he will. But dont force it. His discography is amazing already. Inspiration comes naturally, not when ur pressured. Let him be himself, not who people want him to be cuz forced preaching will just be corny not inspiring

Ye journey isnt linear n his music shows that. He’s allowed to explore different phases n if this 1 isnt for u, thats cool. Im not saying u shouldnt criticize it, however I hate the “he should retire” talk. Just cuz u didnt fw his last 2 projects doesnt mean he’s done. Music isnt a competition. The idea of a “perfect discography” is limiting - artists need to take risks, stay true to where they’re at n not play it safe
