Did Anyone Pivot to EA work?

Hello

Have lurked here for a little while to gain some insight in to your world, so thank you for a helpful subreddit!

I was recently laid off and am thinking very carefully about the next chapter of my career. I’ve considered EA work as something I’d like to pivot to, and now might be the right time.

I’ve recently turned 40. My background is in Customer Service Management, with 4 years of event planning prior to this.

I am extremely organized, professional and patient. Competent in Outlook, PP, Excel etc (as well as Google Suite) and a clear communicator. My weaknesses are imposter syndrome and over thinking.

Would love to hear your honest thoughts as to whether that seems a workable skill set for a career as an EA.

And would appreciate advice from anyone else who has pivoted in to EA work. In particular, whether it would be worth obtaining a PACE or CAP certification.

Thanks so much!
