An Education On Early Access (Because some of you obviously need it)

Because I’m tired.

Early access is a feature where authors can put an episode out and essentially “lock” it for a week. Readers then have the choice to either spend 8 gems to unlock and read the episode (one of the VIPs also works but I can’t keep the names straight) or wait a week and read it for free.

Let’s get some facts straight:

  1. The episode is only on EA for a week. There is no way to put a single episode on EA for longer than that. It is literally impossible.

The only ways a longer wait time could happen is if 1. the author updated multiple times at once and put them all on EA. For example if I updated with 3 episodes and each one was on EA the first, second, and third episode would all be free in 7, 14, and 21 days respectively.

Time also adds on if the author updates before the week is over. So if I update on EA and then 5 days later update on EA again, it’s going to show 9 days because it adds on to the previous episode’s EA.

This means that the only way for episodes to have ridiculously long wait times is if the author updates with multiple episodes at once or they’re updating on EA so quickly the app is tacking on time…

This means a single episode released after it’s been more than a week since the last one…cannot have a longer wait period than 7 days.

If it does, it’s likely a glitch.

  1. Episodes also lose their EA status after they’ve been out for a week. So if an episode released 6 months ago and it’s telling you you have to wait 10 days to read or whatever…That’s also likely a glitch.

My advice is if ridiculous wait times are happening to you and you know the author has not done any of the few things I mentioned that you reach out to support. 💕

edit: if you have a problem with me making a post to educate on early access…Then leave. Respectfully, I do not care if you’re upset I wrote up a post on my own account to inform people. 🫡
