Thoughts on dating as a guy in Dublin?

I've been having a string of really bad dates lately. It feels like women are playing some kind of game, and my friends seem to be going through similar experiences.

For instance, I have a friend who's quite attractive, but he often gets rejected because he's not Irish or because he doesn't have enough money (he earns a decent 50K in his 20s). Another friend keeps getting turned down because he's apparently not funny enough (whatever that means!). And yet another friend is frequently rejected because he's short and doesn't have enough money (he's about 5'5" and earns over 100K in his 20s).

Are you guys experiencing similar weirdness? It seems like women are setting unreasonably high standards for guys they date. What's going on?
